Propagation houses
Record the crop stage, light distribution needs and condensation concerns. Ask for the test method behind a stated light-transmission value, including whether it refers to new material or weathered material. A headline percentage cannot describe every installation or crop response.
List covering area, bay width, vent openings and fixing details before requesting cut sizes. A local growing adviser should assess crop-specific light requirements.
Commercial vegetable tunnels
Explain whether the quote is for a replacement skin or a complete structure. Existing channels, roll-up sides, doors and film tensioning can constrain the covering choice. Provide the structural wind and snow load basis rather than assuming thicker plastic solves a frame limitation.
Ask who measures the final cut dimensions and who accepts material at delivery. Installation access and weather windows belong in the planning discussion.
Nursery panel replacement
For greenhouse plastic panels, request material identification, thickness, panel width and length, fixing centers, edge treatment and thermal movement instructions. Confirm compatibility with the frame and existing seals. Panels may need different support and packing from film rolls.
A like-looking panel is not necessarily an equivalent replacement. Ask the supplier to identify deviations in writing and keep its data sheet with the quote.
Multi-bay growing projects
Separate coverings from frame engineering, gutters, foundations, ventilation and climate-control equipment. Procurement documents should show which package includes each interface. Treat mixed film and panel areas as separate lines with a shared dimensions and bay layout reference.
Discuss staged shipping, unloading space and identification marks on packages. Destination requirements must be checked for the exact project rather than inferred from another site.
