Make the covering request measurable

For 6 mil greenhouse plastic, state the nominal thickness, requested tolerance, roll width and length, quantity and unit basis. Ask the factory to name the measurement method and identify whether any optical, diffusion or anti-condensation feature changes the proposed specification. A thickness label does not establish the structure’s wind or snow capacity.

Distinguish sheeting from rigid panels and from a complete plastic greenhouse package. Keep structure and covering, dimensions and bay layout, fixing channels, edge details and vent openings on the same reference schedule. Film replacement and panel replacement can involve different handling and installation work; ask suppliers to flag those differences explicitly.

Describe the crop and site conditions, desired seasonal date, US destination and unloading access. If foundation work, installation, climate controls or spare material belong in the purchase, list them as separate scope lines. Request MOQ, cut-size constraints, sample terms, packing dimensions and written documents before deciding how to compare offers.

Record budget currency and whether the amount is per roll, per unit area or for the whole order. Compare transport, packing, site handling, installation exclusions and support terms alongside material price. A cheaper alternative may change the cut layout or the replacement plan, so retain it as a separate offer rather than overwriting the requested item.
